Tanzania Arrival

Contact the Riverside, Davanu, Bobby or Impala shuttle services at the Nairobi airport information desk to arrange a passage to Arusha in Tanzania. You may need to transfer to the city centre by taxi, which takes about 20 minutes.

The price for a shuttle ticket is $10 - $25 per person depending on your negotiating skills. You will then need to get off at our farm drive which is located 60km past the Namanga border crossing. That would be after about four hours of driving from Nairobi. The shuttles leave twice a day; at 8.00am and at 2.00pm from the Parkside Hotel/Comfort Inn junction in the city centre. Remember to tell the shuttle bus driver to drop you off at the Uto Farm drive, Oldonyo Sambu village, or you will find yourself in Arusha! Also don't accept extra charges to be dropped off at our drive - the distance is less than the full trip into Arusha that you have already paid for!

From Kilimanjaro Airport

Take the Impala airport shuttle to the Impala hotel ($10). Buy a ticket with the shuttle service to go to Nairobi! (much cheaper than a taxi) telling the driver to drop you off on the way at Uto Farm.

We transfer guests to and from Kilimanjaro Airport and/or Arusha town, although we do charge extra for this service. As explained above if you arrive in Nairobi you have to make the transfer with one of the shuttle services or by plane. Kenya Airways/Precision Air fly daily to Kilimanjaro Airport in the early morning.

Visas

You need a transit visa to enter Kenya and another visa to enter Tanzania. Prices vary depending on your nationality, but the top rate is $50. A Kenya transit visa is $20 (Airport - Namanga). These visas are obtainable at the airport on arrival, and at the Namanga border.

Vaccinations

With the abolition of the yellow fever requirement, no mandatory vaccination requirements remain for entry into Tanzania. We would however, recommend that you get a hepatitis vaccination.
